22.2 tons of dry bean seeds were distributed to farmers

In Nevşehir, 22.2 tons of dry bean seeds were distributed to farmers as part of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's Agricultural Land Utilization Effectiveness (TAKE) Project.

Speaking at a ceremony held at the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry for the seed distribution, AK Party Nevşehir Member of Parliament Süleyman Özgün stated that 38 projects have been implemented throughout the province since 2021 under the TAKE Project, and that efforts are being made to revitalize areas unsuitable for cultivation as part of the protection of agricultural lands.

Özgün stated that Nevşehir will continue to contribute to the country's agricultural strength, saying, "In the last 5 years, 3.4 billion Turkish Lira in support payments have been made in our province within the scope of plant and animal production and rural development. With the good rainfall this year, we will see a much better impact of the projects in the field. It is extremely valuable that our government stands by producers in disasters such as agricultural frost. Last year, 336 million Turkish Lira in support was provided to 8,719 producers in our province due to agricultural frost."

Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Özgür Memiş, stated that the number of farmers in Nevşehir is increasing every year, and continued as follows:

"We are carrying out plant production with 20,812 farmers registered in our farmer registration system, and animal production with 8,700 producers. With the projects and studies we have carried out in animal production, our animal numbers have increased by 6 percent in the last 4 years. Within the scope of the TAKE Project, 1,269,000 kilograms of seeds and 193,000 seedlings were provided to 3,711 farmers with a 75 percent subsidy between 2021-2026."
