The incident occurred at Karacaburç Multi-Program Anatolian High School in the Karacaburç neighborhood of the Şehitkamil district. According to reports, 10th-grade student Beyza C. was eating an apple from the school's lunch menu when a slice became lodged in her windpipe, causing her to have difficulty breathing.

When Beyza C.'s friends noticed and started screaming, Turkish Language and Literature teacher Faik Aktaş performed the Heimlich maneuver, removing the apple slice and allowing C. to breathe again.

The teacher's intervention was recorded second by second by the school's security camera. Teacher Aktaş, who saved her student's life, earned praise for her calm demeanor.

The student, Ç., whose health is good, thanked her teacher. Following the incident, the school administration and health officials also congratulated the teacher for saving the student's life with the Heimlich maneuver.
