Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, regarding the measures taken following the attacks on two schools in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş, said, "We have initiated a series of activities to alleviate the anxiety among our children and families; together with our Ministry of Interior, we will take short-term security measures in schools. Currently, the security forces under our Ministry of Interior are continuing their work in all our schools to ensure that our children continue their education safely."

Minister Tekin visited the Martyr Teachers' Monument in Keçiören district of Ankara with the students. Minister Tekin planted saplings in the name of Fatma Nur Çelik, who lost her life in the attack in Çekmeköy, Istanbul, and Ayla Kara, the teacher who lost her life in the attack in Kahramanmaraş, and placed carnations at their monuments, and prayed for the martyr teachers.

"THEY USED OUR CHILDREN"

Speaking to the press, Minister Tekin offered condolences for the teachers and students who lost their lives in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Tekin stated, "During periods when the embrace between the state and the nation strengthens, dark structures, those who are disturbed by this, immediately intervene; they do provocative things to eliminate and weaken this unity.

Personally, I believe that this incident, following the extraordinary rapprochement between the state and the nation that began at the start of Ramadan, and after the awareness-raising activities that the Ministry of National Education was conducting throughout April to ensure that our children embrace concepts such as national unity, solidarity, state, sovereignty, and democracy, and to raise a generation that will fight for the waving of our flag, was orchestrated by groups who were disturbed by the awareness we wanted to create, and they used our children in this heinous incident."

He continued, "These groups were disturbed by the awareness-raising activities we were conducting throughout April to ensure that our children embrace concepts such as national unity, solidarity, state, sovereignty, and democracy, and they used our children in this heinous incident."

"OUR PRESIDENT GAVE THE INSTRUCTIONS"

Tekin stated that this week, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave instructions to the Ministry of National Education and all other ministries regarding this issue at the Presidential Cabinet meeting, saying, "From the moment the incident was first reported, our President was directly involved in the process and coordinated it.

The President's instruction to us was that whoever is behind this, which structures, which factors, must be revealed as soon as possible. Therefore, our Ministry of Interior and our Ministry of Justice are currently examining the process in detail. Our President instructed that whoever is behind this, whichever power, whichever individuals, will be apprehended and punished as soon as possible. Currently, two ministries, including our Ministry of National Education Inspection Board, are involved in the process.

This is the first thing we will do. Secondly, to alleviate the anxiety among our children and families, we have initiated a series of activities to take short-term security measures in schools together with our Ministry of Interior.
