CHP Niğde MP Ömer Fethi Gürer stated that public resources were being wasted in the Bor Physical Therapy Center project planned for the Bor district of Niğde. Gürer noted that the foundation pit, opened before the elections, has now been filled with waste, and that uncertainties surrounding the project persist.

Recalling that a new hospital is planned to replace the existing physical therapy center damaged in the earthquake, Gürer stated that foundation excavation was carried out in an area approximately 100 meters from the Bor State Hospital, but construction has not yet begun. He pointed out that payment was made to the contractor for the pit, which was opened as part of the project planned to open in February 2025, amounting to 40 million Turkish Lira plus VAT at 2024 prices, a sum that would reach approximately 100 million Turkish Lira in today's value.

Gürer stated that the project covers an area of ​​65,000 square meters, and that the work, started before the elections, has been left unfinished, with the pit now being filled with waste. Regarding the new hospital planned to replace the center destroyed after the earthquake, Gürer stated that there is neither an ongoing construction nor a finalized new project.

He said that the reason given for abandoning the project was the risk from a fault line, but pointed out that the existing state hospital in the same area continues to operate. Gürer emphasized that earthquake-resistant structures can be built, and that there are question marks regarding why the project was abandoned.

He stated that approximately 180,000 cubic meters of excavation material was removed during the excavation work, equivalent to 12,000 trucks, and that the 317-page soil survey report examined the Tuz Gölü Fault Line and found no obstacles to construction. Gürer demanded an explanation as to why the project was abandoned, despite this report being included in the tender documents.

Gürer also stated that the timing and location of the Bor Physical Therapy Center are still unclear and called for public disclosure of the expenditures made.
