Zerrin Üstel emphasized that education is the guarantee of the future with the following words

Zerrin Üstel, wife of Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, participated in a high-level session titled “One Heart for Palestine: Protecting the Future Against Destruction in Education,” held as part of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) 2026.

The event, held under the patronage of Emine Erdoğan, wife of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, addressed the disrupted educational processes in Palestine due to the devastating effects of the war. The session, which brought together leading figures from the international community, emphasized the need for children to regain safe educational environments and for psychosocial support mechanisms to be strengthened.

Following the event, Zerrin Üstel, in her assessment, drew attention to the fact that children bear the heaviest burden of the humanitarian tragedy in Palestine, emphasizing that education is the guarantee of the future with the following words:

“The extensive damage to the educational infrastructure in Palestine poses a significant threat to the future. Education is the key to a nation's recovery. Therefore, it is essential for the international community to demonstrate stronger solidarity to ensure that children receive uninterrupted and safe education.”

Üstel emphasized that the TRNC has always stood by oppressed peoples, drawing attention to the spirit of solidarity among the Turkish Cypriot people, and said, “As the Turkish Cypriot people, we act with the awareness of the difficulties we have experienced in the past. Standing by our Palestinian brothers and sisters and contributing to their future is a humanitarian responsibility. Such platforms make significant contributions to strengthening a common conscience and global solidarity. We extend our thanks to Mrs. Emine Erdoğan for hosting us with such wonderful hospitality at this program and for raising awareness on such an important issue.”
