Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Torbalı district are alleged to have planned an attack in a messaging group they created among themselves. The students, who communicated in a WhatsApp group of 20 people called '12/A Avionics', reportedly discussed in detail an attack similar to the recent school attacks in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş. Based on the information obtained, the gendarmerie conducted simultaneous operations at the identified addresses. T.Y., A.K., A.E.Ö., E.K., R.D., F.G., Ç.S., and A.Ç., who were allegedly involved in preparing for the attack and were members of the WhatsApp group, were taken into custody. Evidence obtained from the homes and digital materials of those detained is being examined. It was stated that the questioning of the 12th-grade students at the District Gendarmerie Command is ongoing. Successive School Attacks On April 15, a shooting attack took place at Ayser Çalık Middle School in Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş at noon. Nine people, eight students and one teacher, lost their lives. Five of the 13 injured are in intensive care. The attacker, İsa Aras Mersinli, an 8th-grade student, died from a stab wound to his right leg, according to the autopsy report. Mersinli's father, Uğur Mersinli, a former police officer, was arrested. A month earlier, in Istanbul, a student stabbed and killed teacher Fatma Nur Çelik at school. Following the attacks, the Ministry of Interior announced yesterday that two police officers have been assigned to each school.
