Students from the school that was attacked have been transferred to other schools

Students from Ayser Çalık Middle School in Kahramanmaraş, which was the target of an armed attack, have been reassigned to other schools.

On April 15th, at midday, an armed attack took place at Ayser Çalık Middle School in the Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş. Nine people, including eight students and one teacher, died, excluding the perpetrator.

The attacker, İsa Aras Mersinli, an 8th-grade student, died from a stab wound to his right leg, according to the autopsy report. His father, Uğur Mersinli, was arrested.

The Kahramanmaraş Governorate decided to reassign the students of Ayser Çalık Middle School, who were given leave until Monday, April 20th, to nearby schools.

The students will continue their education at their new schools starting next week. A decision regarding whether or not to close the school will be made later.
