An expert dispelled the myth that smart people get angry less often

A high level of intelligence does not mean a person is less prone to anger or irritation, according to Vera Nikishina, PhD in psychology and director of the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Social Work at Pirogov University.

According to her, anger is a basic emotion that arises regardless of intelligence level. However, for people with high intelligence, its frequent expression is less beneficial, as it requires significant resources and is often counterproductive.

The expert notes that high intelligence is often associated with a more complex and diverse emotional sphere. Such people may experience a wide range of emotions, including irritation and impulsiveness, especially in situations where they encounter contradictions or misunderstandings of obvious things.

Also, according to the expert, there is no universal behavioral model for "smart people." Attitudes toward lying, for example, can vary greatly: some are inclined to reject it, while others, on the contrary, embrace it.

Nikishina also noted that people with high intelligence are often less inclined to maintain strict order in their daily lives and may experience difficulties with social adaptation.

Thus, the idea that intelligence determines a set of emotions or eliminates negative reactions is a myth.
