The annual SberPrime Green Marathon, a sports, charity, and family event, will take place this year on May 30. Registration for the Moscow race is now open , and registration in the regions will open on April 8. The race will be supported by the popular SberPrime subscription service. The competition will span 60 Russian cities from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad. Over 140,000 participants are expected to compete. The event is expected to be one of the largest not only in Russia but also in the world. In Moscow, Vasilievsky Spusk and Zaryadye Park will once again welcome athletes and fans. Participants will have access to the following distances: children's races of 400, 600, and 800 meters (depending on age), 4.2 km Nordic walking, 4.2 km runs, 10 km runs, and 21.1 km (half marathon). Teams of 5 to 10 people can participate in the 4.2 km running event, which includes a team competition. The organizers are preparing more than just a run and Nordic walking, but a celebration for everyone: after the competition, runners and fans will enjoy a family-friendly music festival featuring popular artists. Participation in the capital will be subject to a fee. Additionally, participants can have their medals engraved free of charge with a SberPrime subscription. The SberPrime Green Marathon will be free in the regions. Each city will have a 4.2 km course and a children's start, while some cities will have 10 and 21.1 km courses. Concerts and environmental events are planned. Famous artists will also perform in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Nizhny Novgorod, where the largest number of participants is expected. All registration fees and voluntary donations will go to Sberbank's "Contribution to the Future" Charitable Foundation. The funds raised will be used by non-profit organizations to launch preschool programs for children with mental disabilities and orphans. Teachers and psychologists will provide individualized educational programs tailored to each child's needs, provide careful guidance, teach new skills, and help them discover their talents, find friends, and interact with them. Anyone can contribute to this work on the SberVmeste platform—participating in the race is not required. As per tradition, Sber will double the final donation, which could be a record-breaking amount this year. Last year, participants donated over 30 million rubles to good causes, and with the doubling of the bank, they have donated over 60 million rubles to support children. This year marks the 13th SberPrime Green Marathon. The project began in 2012 and has since grown from a city greening initiative into a large-scale social event for the entire country. In 2016, the Green Marathon set a Russian record for the most cities run in a single daylight hour. Over the years, over a million people have participated in the event. Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank: "Year after year, we participate in the SberPrime Green Marathon with a purpose—to help children. Everyone runs at their own pace, and Nordic walking has its own pace, too, but everyone is doing the same good deed. It's more than just running—it's our shared contribution to the future: every step, every donation helps children and truly changes their lives. I invite all running enthusiasts who share the idea of this marathon to take part in our charitable family celebration, which we strive to make unforgettable. I'm confident the Green Marathon will become one of the most vibrant and kind sporting events in our country." Arizona Grand Canyon National Park Colorado River News Weather Helicopter Tours |
