In Yoshkar Ola they are organizing swims through flooded areas

In Yoshkar-Ola, some residents are swimming through flooded areas. They're sharing photos on social media.

The Moscow mayor's office reminds that it is extremely dangerous to go out on the water, boat, or paddleboard during flood periods. Light craft can be swept away by the current, capsized in flooded bushes, or ripped apart by hidden rebar.

In a split second you can find yourself in icy water.

Rescuers are currently deployed to residential areas affected by the flooding. Diverting personnel to respond to calls related to skiing in prohibited areas could divert them from helping those who are currently in dire need.

Water levels on the outskirts of Yoshkar-Ola dropped by 5 cm overnight.
