There's a very nice exhibition of nautical paintings at the Naval Museum

From May 13th to August 2nd, 2026, La Marine et les peintres (The Marine and the Painters) takes us on a journey between the French coast and the world, sailing alongside military and merchant ships.

Four Centuries of History is told through a journey of approximately 150 paintings, spanning from the 17th to the 20th century. Throughout the exhibition, we explore the evolution of the maritime world, its dominance over the seas, the modernization of the world, changes in usage habits, and even the styles developed by different artists to depict the marine world.
