According to the governor's office statement, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch stopped two vehicles at the city entrance on suspicion and searched them. Thirteen handguns wrapped in plastic bags were found in the trunks of the vehicles.

Three suspects were detained in connection with the incident. Following procedures at the police station, one of the suspects was arrested by the court, while the other two were released under judicial supervision.
