The mayor who was removed from office was expelled from the party

Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, who was arrested and suspended from his duties as part of the corruption investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Uşak Municipality, has been expelled from the CHP (Republican People's Party). Yalım was caught in a hotel room with a 21-year-old municipal employee, and new videos regarding his love life have surfaced daily.

CHP Spokesperson Zeynel Emre announced that Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, who was arrested and suspended from his duties as part of the bribery and irregularities operation targeting the Uşak Municipality, has been expelled from the party.

9 SUSPECTS, INCLUDING ÖZKAN YALIM, WERE ARRESTED

Last March, following an investigation into allegations that Özkan Yalım, the CHP mayor of Uşak, had received bribes from individuals and companies, operations were conducted in Uşak, Ankara, and Kocaeli provinces, and 13 suspects, including Mayor Yalım, were taken into custody. The magistrates' court ordered the arrest of Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, along with Halil Arslan, Hüseyin Yaman, Hasan Doğukan Kurnaz, Murat Altınkaya, Cihan Aras, İsmail Özçelik, Murat Baş, and Mustafa Yalım. The court also ruled that Kenan Arslan, Seher Akay, Aslıhan Aksoy, and Salih Sönmez be placed under judicial supervision. Furthermore, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that 4 more suspects had been apprehended as part of the ongoing investigation, bringing the total number of people arrested to 17.

The CHP (Republican People's Party) administration had suspended the party membership of Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, who was detained after being caught in a hotel room with a 21-year-old municipal employee during an operation conducted as part of a bribery investigation. WHO IS ÖZKAN YALIM?

He was born on December 29, 1969, in Köylüoğlu Village, Eşme, Uşak. His father's name is Dursun, and his mother's name is Birgül. He graduated from Eşme High School in 1985. He engaged in trade in Turkey for 5 years under his own name. He went to Belgium in 1990. Since 1993, he has been involved in international transportation and logistics. He operates in the transportation and fuel sectors in Turkey. He served as a Member of Parliament for Uşak in the 25th and 26th terms. He was elected as a Member of Parliament for Uşak in the 27th term. He serves as a member of the EU Harmonization Commission and Co-Chair of the Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee. The son of a family of educators, Yalım is fluent in French and Bulgarian; he is married and has three children.
