The father of the middle school student who died in the school attack has spoken

Murat Boyraz, the father of 11-year-old Belinay Nur Boyraz, a 5th-grade student at Ayser Çalık Middle School in Kahramanmaraş who lost her life in the school attack, said, "Belinay is like a prophet's flower blooming in paradise; her name blossomed in paradise. She became the flower of our Prophet. She rose to the level of martyrdom. In her last month, my daughter especially always talked about paradise."

Belinay Nur Boyraz, a student at Ayser Çalık Middle School in Kahramanmaraş, lost her life in the school attack and was buried alongside her classmates in the Şeyh Adil Cemetery in the Dulkadiroğlu district. Her father, Murat Boyraz, visits her grave every day and offers prayers.

"SHAME ON THOSE WHO DON'T PROTECT THEIR OWN CHILDREN"

Stating that the real culprits in the incident are the attacker's parents, the father, Boyraz, said, "Shame on those who don't protect their own children. This criminal came into this world as a human being. We have elevated our son above the angels; all of humanity knows that he has reached the level of martyrdom, all Muslims accept it. Those who raised this criminal, look what they've done to their child. The guilty ones here are the mother and father for not protecting him. How can a mother who is an educator and a father who is a police officer raise such a criminal child? It's unbelievable. They are nurturing a criminal, a monster, in their home, in their arms, and turning a blind eye to it. Saying 'I didn't realize it' isn't enough."

"HER NAME BLOOMED IN PARADISE, SHE BECAME THE FLOWER OF OUR PROPHET"

Father Boyraz, stating that Belinay was a child who never neglected her religious duties, said, "Her mother named her Belinay. I added the name Nur. And she fulfilled the meaning of her name. Belinay is the flower of the Prophet that blooms in paradise; her name bloomed in paradise. She became the flower of our Prophet. She rose to the level of martyrdom. Especially in her last month, she always talked about paradise. She would ask her mother, 'How old will we be in paradise? How much will we weigh? What will we be like?' She was curious. Her last month passed like this. She fasted all of her Ramadan fasts. She was a child who paid attention to her prayers. She prayed five times a day."

"WE HAD PLANNED TO GO ON UMRAH WITH OUR DAUGHTER"

Father Boyraz stated that his daughter was a very successful child, saying, "She took the 'Journey to the Horizon' exam and came in second in her school. She participated in the Umrah lottery, but didn't win. She expressed her disappointment. I said, 'My daughter, let me take you.' We had planned to go on Umrah together with our daughter. It didn't happen."
