Why Your Prayers Are Not Answered The Bitter Secret of Unlawful Sustenance

Why Your Prayers Are Not Answered The Bitter Secret of Unlawful Sustenance

Why are prayers offered with tears rejected? The divine warning that shook Prophet Moses, the secret of accepted prayers, and the terrifying 40-day price of unlawful sustenance have come to light. The issue of "earnings," one of the greatest trials humanity faces amidst worldly anxieties, is the most vital line shaping eternal life.

According to Islamic ethics, a wise believer's strong avoidance of unlawful earnings and sustenance directly affects not only their afterlife but also their peace of mind in this world and the acceptance of their prayers. Historical events and the shocking warnings of the Master of the Universe, Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him), found in the reliable Islamic source al-Durr al-Mansur, reveal the terrifying price of unlawful sustenance, which poisons both body and soul, in all its starkness.

Why Are Tears Useless? The Revelation That Shook Prophet Moses! One of the most striking examples of how ill-gotten gains sever a person from divine mercy occurred during the time of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him), the one who spoke with God.

According to historical accounts, one day Moses (peace be upon him) saw a man prostrating himself in tears, sobbing and pleading with his Lord. Compassionate to the man's pitiable state, the great prophet prayed, "O Lord, will You not have mercy on this servant of Yours?" thus imploring the manifestation of divine compassion. However, the shocking revelation from God Almighty sealed forever the circumstances under which acts of worship become worthless:
"Even if he were to perish from weeping, I will not have mercy on him! For what he eats is unlawful, and what he wears is unlawful."

The Danger That Draws the Body into the Fire: That Heavy 40-Day Price! The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) declared the ultimate punishment in the hereafter for consuming unlawful sustenance in a hadith with this definitive ruling: "No body nourished by unlawful sustenance will enter Paradise (unless it is purified by the fire of Hell). The fire of Hell is fitting for every body nourished by unlawful sustenance."

The echo of this shocking truth in the Golden Age of Islam was shaped by the historic prayer of the great Companion Sa'd ibn Abu Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him). One day, when the 168th verse of Surah Al-Baqarah, which calls people to lawful and pure sustenance on earth, was recited, Sa'd ibn Abu Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and made the following request to the Master of the Universe (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah Almighty that He may make me one of those whose prayers are always accepted."

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) revealed the golden secret of the acceptance of prayer and the consequences of unlawful sustenance with these magnificent words:

"O Sa'd, eat from what is pure and lawful, and your prayer will be accepted! I swear by Allah in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, that if a man swallows a morsel of unlawful sustenance, his good deeds will not be accepted for forty days!"

The Only Recipe for Eternal Salvation: Lawful Sustenance and Repentance
Lawful sustenance is the strongest brick in the edifice of Islam. Any gain obtained through usury, violating the rights of others, or through illegitimate means, shatters a person's worship and supplications before they reach the heavens.

However, the door of Islam's vast mercy is always open. Islamic scholars offer this definitive prescription for those who have engaged in haram practices to escape this terrible threat: To repent sincerely to Allah Almighty without delay, to find those who have a right against them, and to reconcile with them. Only this sincere repentance can save a person from that burning torment and the calamity of their prayers being rejected.
