Fenerbahçe announces new striker he will join the team in June

Fenerbahçe executive Ertan Torunoğulları stated that the new striker transfer will join the team in June and that they aim to go to the pre-season camp with a largely complete squad.

Fenerbahçe Board Member Ertan Torunoğulları spoke exclusively to CNBC-e about their transfer plans.

"SALARIES MUST BE REDUCED"

Speaking about the football industry, Ertan Torunoğulları stated that salaries should be reduced, saying, "The football industry has grown too much. We spent a lot of time abroad during the winter, doing a lot of research. Currently, except for England, all other leagues are moving towards reducing salaries and transfer fees. Clubs are having trouble paying salaries because they don't have extra income.

I have been living in the Netherlands for 35 years, and as someone from within this sector, I can say that currently, except for England, all countries are implementing salary reductions, especially for players who have reached a certain age. We also stayed in Saudi Arabia and Dubai. We met with club presidents. They will no longer make big transfers or pay salaries.

They have made such a decision. Salaries have really risen in the world, especially in our country. Currently, the salaries paid in our country, especially those paid by the big four clubs, are not paid by any club in Europe except England, and I'm not even counting the big teams. We must introduce salary caps, and if we can't, we must generate extra income. If we can't, believe me, in 3-5 years, salaries will not be payable in Türkiye either." Stating that footballers demand higher salaries in Türkiye, Ertan Torunoğulları said, "We, as clubs and the federation, need to find a solution to this. The brand value of football is clear, television revenues are clear. We have fallen compared to the past.

If we cannot generate extra income, we cannot pay. This applies to all clubs. For example, we go to transfer negotiations, and the citizen says 'buy him'. It's not enough to just say 'buy him'. A person who plays for 2 million in Germany demands a net 5 million when they come to Türkiye. We have already passed that point. We all need to follow a determined policy to reduce this. Otherwise, our job will be very difficult."

Touching upon transfers, Ertan Torunoğulları said, "I'm thinking about it for a long time. Many of our fellow managers came before us, and many will come after us. Transfer work never ends at Fenerbahçe. We also have a plan. We are in talks with players. We will evaluate them in May, and hopefully, if there are no setbacks, we want to go to the June training camp with 90% full squad."
