Suspect who stole a miniature statue from a martyr's cemetery has been apprehended

In Mudanya district of Bursa, suspect B.D., who stole a miniature commando statue from the grave of martyred Infantry Commando Lieutenant Tunahan Yavuz, was apprehended by police. Footage from a business's security camera shows the suspect walking with the stolen statue.

The incident occurred around 2 PM in the martyrs' cemetery in Ömerbey neighborhood of Mudanya district. The martyr's mother noticed that the miniature commando statue they had placed on her son's grave was missing and reported the situation to the authorities. The incident quickly spread on social media, prompting police to take action. After reviewing security camera footage from the area, the police identified the suspect. B.D. (46), who was determined to have stolen the statue, was quickly apprehended and taken into custody. The security camera footage shows the suspect walking with the stolen miniature statue in his hand. Efforts to locate the stolen statue are ongoing.

The suspect, who was taken into custody, is still undergoing questioning at the police station.
