In Gaziantep, taxi driver Ramazan Y. (58), who was taken hostage with a shotgun by Semih Ç. (31) and his girlfriend Gülbahar Y. (36), was apprehended as a result of a police operation. The chase, during which police fired shots into the air, the suspects were taken into custody, and the moments of panic among onlookers were captured on security camera footage.
The incident occurred in the afternoon in the Araban district. According to allegations, Semih Ç. and his girlfriend Gülbahar Y. took taxi driver Ramazan Y. hostage by threatening him with a shotgun and attempted to flee in the vehicle. Following a tip from nearby citizens, police teams launched an operation to stop the suspects from the Araban district onwards. The suspects continued to flee, ignoring police orders to stop. The chase between the suspects and the police ended in the Karacaahmet neighborhood.
Shots Fired at Police with Pump-Action Shotgun
Suspects, intercepted by police teams in the neighborhood, opened fire with a pump-action shotgun from inside a taxi. Thanks to the careful work of the police teams, Semih Ç. and Gülbahar Y. were apprehended in the operation, while the taxi driver, Ramazan Y., who was taken hostage, was rescued with a minor finger injury. The suspects were taken to the police station for further processing.

Meanwhile, the moment the suspects were taken into custody was captured by a security camera. The footage shows police firing into the air and arresting the suspects, while some citizens' moments of panic were also captured on camera. The investigation into the incident continues.
