Visiting the Grand Canyon during the winter months can be dangerous due to the turbulent river waters
A friend who visited the Grand Canyon with his family last year told me a few days ago. He said: "This was only the second time in my life I visited the Grand Canyon with my wife and child. But the biggest mistake I made was visiting it in the winter. Because while we were having a picnic on the banks of the Colorado River, it suddenly got dark and it rained for hours. During this time, the riverbed began to fill with rainwater. My wife, child, and I climbed onto the trees on the bank to avoid being swept away by the strong floodwaters. About half an hour later, a helicopter came and picked us up. From now on, if I decide to visit the Grand Canyon again, I will do it in the summer."
