Veteran actors met with young people on campus and shared their experiences

In the "From the Screen to Campus: Conversation 3" event organized by the Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) Youth Community, theater actors Hakan Bilgin and Yosi Mizrahi met with students and shared their experiences.

The Youth Community, notable for its 15-year history and over 160 events and more than 220 guests to date, added another event to its activities. Held in the OMÜ Faculty of Education Conference Hall, the conversation provided students with the opportunity to ask the actors questions they were curious about.

Hakan Bilgin, recounting his story of how he started in theater, said, "If it weren't for the Ordu Municipality Black Sea Theater, I wouldn't have met theater, I wouldn't have believed that theater changes people. I wouldn't have known that the stage, where I express myself, is a place to change the world. Then perhaps I would have continued my life as an ordinary businessman or accountant.

I tried to use theater to improve myself, to express myself better." Giving advice to students based on his experiences, Hakan Bilgin said, "The day you manage to think of the obstacle or problem you encounter in life not as a wall but as a ladder, you start walking, and then running. But the life given to you for free; 'Why am I in Çarşamba?', 'Why am I here?', 'I wish we had been born in Istanbul!', 'It would be good if we were in Paris, what is an American experiencing?'" "As long as you spend your time saying 'I'm going to waste it,' you don't appreciate what you have.

If you're stuck in traffic and have to take a different route, there's something you'll see on that road. If you spend time complaining about it, thinking you're late, and focusing on what's happening an hour later, you'll miss the scene on that street. Billiards player Semih Saygıner says: 'Someone else throws the ball in billiards, and when there's no score, they complain. I throw the ball, and when there's no score, I watch the ball; why is it going there?' That's how he follows the ball, and in the end, it reaches everywhere.

Similarly, the moment you identify the cause of something negative that happens in your life, you've essentially passed that class," he said. Yosi Mizrahi, stating that plans can confine people to patterns, added, "When I say live without plans, I don't mean be reckless; enjoy the moment and its meaning. When you make too many plans, you feel compelled to fit into a mold and try to stay within that framework. This codes you. You need to live with the mentality of 'water flows and finds its own path.'" - SAMSUN
