The Alpine driver will be the absolute protagonist of a historic event in the city of Buenos Aires

Franco Colapinto will star in a unique and historic road show this Sunday: he will be the first Argentinian to drive a Formula 1 car on the streets of Buenos Aires . While final preparations are underway to ensure the event runs smoothly, the Alpine driver has already arrived at the venue and appeared very relaxed.

In images that circulated on social media, Franco Colapinto appeared drinking mate , one of his great passions, and chatting with journalist Juan Fossaroli and his manager Jamie Campbell-Walter.
Then, he took the opportunity to climb into the "Silver Arrow" , Juan Manuel Fangio's iconic Formula 1 car, which the Argentine driver will drive on one of his laps.

What will Franco Colapinto's exhibition in Buenos Aires be like?
The event will also include a special tribute to the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio , the five-time Argentine Formula 1 world champion. It consists of a ride around a circuit marked out on the streets of Palermo in the city, aboard a replica of the Mercedes-Benz W196 Roadster with which the Balcarce legend won the world championship in 1954 and 1955.

The replica is almost entirely faithful to the original model, although it has one key difference: the engine. “The original had materials like titanium and magnesium that are almost nonexistent today. That's why we used a more modern Mercedes engine, but the rest is practically the same,” Diforti explained to TN.
