
A shooting attack took place at a high school in Siverek, Şanlıurfa. Students and teachers were injured in the attack, and a large number of medical personnel and special operations police were dispatched to the area. A witness stated that the attacker, described as being 18-19 years old, first opened fire with a long-barreled weapon in the schoolyard and then entered the school and continued shooting. Şanlıurfa Governor Hasan Şıldak, in a statement following the incident, said that 16 people, mostly students, were injured in the attack carried out with a shotgun, adding that the attacker was a former student of the school and had committed suicide. The attacker was identified as Ömer Ket. A statement from the Ministry of Interior indicated that 10 students, 4 teachers, 1 police officer, and 1 canteen operator were injured in the attack.
