Nine suspects have been arrested in connection with the consulate attack in Istanbul

Nine of the 17 suspects in connection with the attack on the police checkpoint in front of the Israeli Consulate General in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, have been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
Nine suspects have been arrested in the investigation into the armed attack on the police checkpoint in front of the Israeli Consulate General in Beşiktaş, Istanbul. The judicial process continues for the 17 people detained in connection with the incident.

Twelve of the suspects, whose statements were taken at the Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch, were sent to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan after health checks. Following the prosecutor's proceedings, 9 suspects were arrested, 2 suspects were brought before the judge with a request for judicial control, and 1 suspect was released.

Details of the Attack
The attack occurred at the police checkpoint in front of the consulate building in Levent, Beşiktaş. In the clash between security forces and the attackers, one attacker was neutralized, and two attackers were apprehended with injuries.

Following the incident, the investigation revealed that the suspects were linked to a terrorist organization that exploits religion.

Large-Scale Operation
A total of 17 suspects were detained in operations conducted as part of the investigation. After completing their procedures at the police station, the suspects were taken to Bayrampaşa State Hospital under heavy security measures for a health check.

Following the health checks, the suspects were transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse, where their statements to the prosecutor were completed.

Investigation Continues
The prosecutor requested the arrest of 9 suspects and judicial control for 2 suspects. The court ordered the arrest of 9 suspects.

Meanwhile, it was learned that the procedures for 3 suspects who were later detained in connection with the incident are continuing at the police station. The 2 suspects who were apprehended injured are still receiving treatment in the hospital.

Authorities stated that the investigation is being conducted comprehensively to uncover all connections to the attack.
