RAPID INTERVENTION BY TEAMS: 5 PEOPLE RESCUED
Upon notification of the accident, the Maritime Police, Coast Guard Command, Coastal Security, and fire department teams acted in a coordinated manner. The five people on board the boat that collided with the ship were safely evacuated thanks to the meticulous work of the teams. It was learned that the survivors, after undergoing health checks, are in good condition.
BOAT TAKES ON WATER AND SINKS IN THE SEA
The boat, which suffered heavy damage to its hull due to the impact of the collision with the ship, started taking on water immediately after the accident. Shortly after the evacuation operations were completed, the boat sank in the waters off Selimiye. Teams continuing their investigations at the scene have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
