A cooperation agreement aimed at developing strategic competencies and transforming the ecosystem in the defense industry was signed between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
President of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), Haluk Görgün, stated in a social media post that Türkiye's holistic ecosystem approach in the defense industry is attracting increasing interest from friendly and brotherly countries.
Görgün further commented:
"Our holistic ecosystem approach in the defense industry has now reached a level that is referenced internationally, not only in terms of platform and product development capabilities, but also in its institutional structure, governance model, and sustainable industrialization approach.
Friendly and brotherly countries are seeking not only the technology but also the system architecture that makes this technology possible.
In line with this understanding, we have signed a cooperation agreement between the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence Industries and our Presidency, aiming at developing strategic competencies and transforming the ecosystem in the defense industry."
Görgün stated that the cooperation in question will create a comprehensive transformation perspective in the areas of defense industry governance model, procurement and contract management structures, R&D, product development and technology acquisition processes, industrialization and export architecture, and human resource development and knowledge transfer.
Görgün said, "This step is a concrete reflection of the deepening of strategic cooperation between the two brotherly countries, as well as the value that Türkiye's defense industry model carries on a global scale."
The statement noted that the agreement was signed on behalf of the Presidency of Defense Industries by Deputy President Hakan Karataş, and on behalf of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industry by Deputy Minister of Defense Industry Hidayet Azimov.
